Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth typed into one of the search tools here passes directly to the third-party provider running that search. The provider processes the query and returns the results. On our side, nothing about the search terms you enter is stored or logged.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email you send us is retained so that we can answer it. Messages stay inside our team, and we will not pass one to anyone outside our organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers record a handful of technical details each time a page on this site loads:
- Timestamps for each page view
- The IP address assigned to your device
- The device type and operating system in use
- The browser you are using, including its version
- The referring site, where one exists
- Which pages were visited and how long each was open
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are in use on this site. They are small files kept on your device that let us understand how visitors move through the pages, which ones attract the most traffic, and where people tend to leave. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information for us. Cookies can be blocked at any time through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing your search requests to the correct partner service
- Identifying and repairing technical problems
- Keeping the site online, stable, and quick to load
- Displaying advertising that may match your interests
- Understanding which pages readers find useful and which need work
No Warrant Data on File
No database of warrants or personal warrant-record information is hosted, maintained, compiled, or sold here. What this site publishes is general guidance about where Forrest County warrant records are held and how to reach them through the Sheriff's Warrants and Process Unit, the Circuit Clerk and the other Forrest County courts, and the Hattiesburg and Petal municipal courts. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Whatever you enter into those tools is handled under the partner's own privacy policy rather than this one. Their data-retention and sharing practices are set by them and are not under our control, so review the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links across this site lead to Forrest County Sheriff's Office pages, Mississippi court portals, the state electronic court system, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following any of them takes you off our site, at which point their privacy policy governs the visit. Read it before sharing personal details.
Some advertising partners may follow your activity across sites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not on ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Some information may reach:
- Analytics services that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing queries you run here
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting on a valid legal order
- Ad networks placing advertising on our pages
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are applied to the data we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is ever completely safe, though. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, but we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
Adults are the intended audience for this site. Personal information is not knowingly gathered from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has shared data with us and it will be deleted promptly.
Your Data Rights
Mississippi's principal access statute is the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, Mississippi Code §§ 25-61-1 through 25-61-17, which governs records held by public bodies rather than by a private website like this one. Depending on where you live, consumer-protection and privacy law may still give you rights over your own data. At a minimum, you can:
- Request that we erase your data
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
- Have inaccurate information corrected
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change over time. Any updated version will appear on this page carrying a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how your information is handled.
